Team Philippines Rules Over Team Canada In The Second Round Of 2011 World Cup Of Poo

Team Philippines A, composing of Dennis Orcollo and Ronnie Alcano, makes it into 2011 World Cup Of Pool Quarter Finals at the expense of Canadians Jason Klatt and John Morra. In what started as a close fight, the match ended with an 8-6 score in favor of the Filipino duo.
The victory of Dennis “Robocap” Orcollo and Ronnie “The Volcano” Alcano marks the Philippines’ second spot in the tournament’s Quarter Finals. Team Philippines B, composing of Efren Reyes and Francisco Bustamante, secured the first one yesterday after defeating Raj Hundal and Amar Kang of India, 8-5.
Team Philippines A will be facing Taiwan’s Ko Pin-yi and Ko Ping-chun while Team Philippines B is set to meet Germany’s Thorsten Hohmann and Ralf Souquet - who just won the 2011 World Pool Masters title last September 5 against Orcollo. Since the Philippines is the 2011 World Cup Of Pool host, the country has been allowed to be represented by two teams in the tournament.
Joining Team Philippines A and B in the Quarter Finals are teams from Sweden, Korea, Thailand and Poland. Sweden’s Marcus Chamat and Thomas Mehtala are to face Korea’s Lee Gun Jae & Hwang Yong while Thailand’s Nitiwat Kanjanasri and Kobkit Palajin will be battling against Karol Skowerski & Radoslaw Babicas of Poland.
The 2011 World Cup Of Pool Quarter Finals, which will be a race to 9 round, takes place tomorrow at SM North, Manila.
