A friend asked me to post this cue and ask a few questions. Would like to know about when it was made and if its worth refinishing. Approximately how much to do that with a new shaft ( don't have one)? Should he just get a shaft and leave it alone? I guess what we would like to know is how much would it be worth refinished compared to leaving it alone even in the condition its in. Thanks for any input I get.

Man, I would be afraid to guess. If it were mine, I would email Mr. Black for restoration, he is a nice bloke. Good lookin cue, I would want it restored, a new one like that would cost north of 2000. He can also date it for you. I'm guessing resto. And new shaft would go approx 500. Good luck

The restoration would be well north of $500.......there's quite a bit of work to make this cue look
new which it would were it to be done by Mr. Black......with a new shaft, more like around a grand.

Worth in a 100%... I would say well north of 2 grand, but that's just a guess. I like the cue, haven't seen many from that era, 74-76 if I had to take a guess. I would get with Black, he will let you know the options, collectors are funny about resto cues(even if the maker does it). If you do get is restored, post pics, I would love to see that beauty in new condition.
On a side note... If you want to sell as is, PM me, I might be interested. It will go well in my collection of Blacks as I don't have one from that era.
