Whatever you do, take some lessons from a qualified instructor. Dont try to start off on your own.
I started palying golf when I was 50. The very first thing I did was take lessons. Back in '63 when I started playing pool, no one would teach you how to play (the fundementals) so, I had to teach myself.....man that was a big mistake. Bad habits are hard to break.
Its a fun game and it will challenge you personally. The game is all about you.
