My favorite tip that I ever shot with was an Instroke hard tip. That thing was great.

I've tried a few different tips, but when I started shooting with the Tiger Sniper tip I was done looking for anything else. I believe it's rated as a medium/hard that plays like a soft tip, and it truly does just that. Holds its shape very well and wouldn't need a lot of maintenance, unless you break and shoot with the same cue. With that being said, I do keep up with mine quite often, but it is not due to mushrooming.

Playing Cue(s): Donnelly '09 w/ Tiger Pro-X Shaft & Balance Rite Extension
Break Cue: Predator Sneaky Pete w/ Phenolic Ferrule
Jump Cue: Stealth 3 Piece w/ Phenolic Ferrule
Case: Instroke Leather "Soft" Case

G2 tips. But iam about to try Dennis Searing new precision tip I installed for local good shooter he loves it.
Bang for ur buck I'd have say ultraskin or SIB tips by Tom hay. Those are hard beat for 3 bucks tip.

I've been playing with the G2 Soft for the last couple weeks and this tip plays fantastic.

It grips the ball extremely well and it hasn't glazed up any yet. It gives me a lot more feel for the cue ball and gives me better control. The tip doesn't add any unnecessary spin, but will give you all the spin need when you stroke the ball.

Triangle which has been pressed so it's hard and never mushrooms.. Hits great. Can fool with it all I want and never have to worry about layers. Oh yeah, they're a buck apiece.

After trying numerous wonder tips, I went back to TRIANGLE.

NO DELAM.

NO MUSHROOMING.

ALMOST NO COST.

HOLDS CHALK WELL.

CONSISTENCY ALL THE WAY DOWN.

And I don't care what anyone says, a harder tip plays better ... at least for me ... as long as it holds chalk.

I tried a bunch of layered tips and came back to Triangle.
All for the above reasons.
I'm just not going to pay $30.00 or so anymore for a tip.

New cue-Schmelke custom Bocote merry widow
Best of the bunch- The Mighty Lucasi Cocobolo
Back up cue - Troy Downey

Triangles tips and Masters chalk are good enough.

Either Triangle or Le Pro for me... Le Pro doesn't seem as hard and holds chalk well.

.

GAMES... http://sites.google.com/site/poolandbilliard

Recognize a 1/2 ball 30 degree cut, and the 1/8 ball angles.
Paralysis by aiming analysis happens by thinking too much.

To play at top speed.. You must own the stop shot line.

Triangle, Sniper, and G2. These are the 3 best tips that I have used so far.

Tried Zan as Oscar Dominguez uses it and he is one of my favorite shooters!
But keep going back to the Dennis Searing "Precision Tip"! Started with the Medium but I am now hooked on the soft, which plays more like a Med. Amazing control! and only ten bucks!
