Ronnie O'Sullivan's cousin wants her glory

JAM posted this link in the main forum.

"In China, their players are paid £3,000 a month and have to do 88 hours of snooker and 12 hours in the gym. No wonder they are producing players.”

Congratulations to Reanne Evans !
Reanne is proving to be a real up and coming "Joe Davis" (20 times champion, but never lost his title and retired undefeated). She demonstrated that she has really got game last year when she took Ken Doherty to 10-8 before bowing out and Ken is still no slouch. Ng On Yee has only managed to take a single frame from Peter Lines and I don't think his heart was in that one.

I hope Reanne can make it to the Crucible one year.

Cool Ferguson to launch Olympic bid - 04-26-2016, 04:06 PM

http://www.sportinglife.com/snooker/...pics-inclusion

Here we go again.....

Quote :

"I can confirm that we will be making a bid for the 2024 Olympic Games. We made a late bid for Tokyo and we did very well. We learned a lot through that process and we know we have the ability to deliver a fantastic Olympic event."

Dear Jason Ferguson .

It doesn't have to be in the Olympics .

Look at the bigger picture and lets have a Billiards Olympic Games .

Every format of Billiards to be included .

Any player can enter the various formats of the Billiards events .

How this gig hasn't happened yet I just dunno .

You better hope I don't win The Lottery because I will make it happen .

Yours sincerely .

A "Cue Sports Olympics" was actually planned at one point under the WCBS. As I vaguely recall, it was to be in Belgium or Germany about 1998. Somehow it fell through. I think it was supposed to be something like the participation of cue sports in the World Games but without the other distracting events.

But while it would be nice for anyone to enter, the usual official international formats have players nominated by their respective continental confederations. Qualification events at the venue before the main events (as is done in World Championships in pool) would be good.
