As to the World snooker Championships being played behind closed doors with no audience Ken said Mark Williams has said he doesn't want it to go ahead without an audience .

We need to remind ourselves that Snooker is a third rank pro sport ( for money) .Whenever that 45th ranked player wins a match and moves up a notch he is Certainly pleased to nab that 5k in prize money. It’s not peanuts to him. He’s also likely crestfallen if the loses the next Round and 10k or whatever. There goes the new car or bathroom Reno.
I suspect guys like Ronnie, Selby, etc.make as much in promos, sponsorship etc as at the table...everything paid for to play in Chinese 8 ball tournaments. Not so for player ranked 104 who is driving a forklift at a warehouse.
Anyways I always feel good when a lower ranked player does unexpectantly well in a tournament. The money means a lot to him and likely is a big motivator to stick with it.
