Question Ball sizes - 04-26-2010, 05:17 PM

I have a English snooker table from 1885. The pockets are very tight. They measure
2 1/4" . What size balls should I use?

Snooker Pockets - 04-26-2010, 05:41 PM

I have a English snooker table from the 1880's. The corner pockets measure 2 1/4" at the widest point. Even with 2 1/16" balls it is very difficult to pot a ball. What sizes should I use for this table? The table is 4' x 8' .

At Amazon UK you can buy snooker balls for smaller pockets:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_...+balls&x=0&y=0

The 1-7/8" balls might be what you want. There are smaller ones as well. If you hunt around the websites for UK snooker table manufacturers you might find what size balls are typically used for a modern table of that size and/or a table with pockets as small as those on your table.
