Seems like they aren't counting world titles as a ranking event.

The World Championship fulfills all the conditions to be ranking..
...it's open to all WPBSA members in good standing....
...and you get ranking points from it.

The list has John Spencer and Alex Higgins with one point apiece....
..John won 3 world titles...and Alex won two.

Interesting.
It has to do with the concept of "ranking events".

To quote the original link:
"Indeed, it wasn’t until 1982 that any event other than the World Championship counted towards the world rankings, well past the prime of Reardon and Spencer."

Alex won his first World Championship in 1972, his second in 1982.

I guess I'll just consider the list to be incomplete.
The WPBSA was founded in 1968....it had a LOT to do with John Spencer
opening up the professional ranks by challenging the world professional champion to a money match.

So it seems they aren't acknowledging Spencer's 3 world titles...also
Higgins twice and Ray Reardon 6 times.
These 11 titles were all won AFTER the WPBSA became an entity.

I tend to be a bit protective of John Spencer especially.....
...I consider him to be the 'father of modern snooker'....
...and he doesn't get enough credit....all these snooker millionaires
owe him big-time.

pt..obviously my opinion
