It all depends on what is causing the roll off. Sometimes it is the wrap that causes the cue to do this. Leather is bad about this as it is thicker in some places and thinner in others. With irish linen sometimes the cue maker pulls the linen back under to end the linen and this creates a high spot in the wrap that is hard to see or feel but causes a bounce in the butt.
